Review: After The Rain by Karen-Anne Stewart

*synopsis & cover from Goodreads

Finally able to put her harrowing past to rest, Raina looks forward to her future with Kas, but the Ghost has other plans. As the FBI team gets closer to taking down the largest human trafficking ring in the modern world, the Ghost begins a wicked game, making Raina the pawn and the target. Never before encountering a worthy adversary, he's fascinated by Raina and is enjoying the refreshing challenge of her intellect.
The danger ignites to a blazing new level, and Kas struggles between the need to finally exorcise the Ghost and his need to protect his wife. Tension mounts as an internal battle wages, tormenting Kas as he watches Raina put her all into taking down the man responsible for horrific sex slavery and gruesome deaths. When a new player takes control, Jefferson orders the end of the Ghost's game with Raina, which results in one final, devastating act, leaving Kas desperate and willing to do whatever it takes to save whatever means necessary.

***Disclaimer: Due to sensitive issues of abuse, human trafficking, and adult scenes, The Rain Trilogy is intended for readers 18+

My 5* Review:

This is an emotional heartfelt roller coaster that I couldn’t get off, even if I had wanted to.

The sick and twisted game that Ghost has begun playing is still continuing. Ghost has made Raina both a pawn and the target in this twisted game. There is also a new player; Jefferson; who has ordered Ghost to put an end to his game and to Raina!
The FBI is getting closer to bringing down the biggest trafficking ring in the modern world.

Kas has an incredible internal battle between watching Raina put her all into finding and taking down the evil monster behind the gruesome deaths and sex slavery and his need to protect his wife. Kas is left desperate and willing to do anything to save Raina... by any means necessary.

Can Raina finally put her harrowing and emotional past to rest?

In After the Rain we get an insight into Ghost’s mind. There are sensitive matters that have been handled fantastically by Karen-Anne Stewart.
There are surprises in store that are both good and bad. Raina is proved to be a tough fighter, as well as stubborn and head strong. Kas appears to be more bad-ass and fiercely protective; especially of ‘his’ woman!

The love scenes between Kas and Raina seem more intense and sooo HOT! The characters have developed really well throughout the entire trilogy.

This was a beautiful ending to an amazing trilogy. I would recommend this trilogy to anyone over 18 (due to the sensitive nature of the trilogy); who loves romantic, suspense filled dramatic novels.

I cannot wait for Karen-Anne Stewart’s next novel to be released.

About The Author:

Karen-Anne Stewart is a new author and has only recently discovered that she is now addicted to writing. Her first novel, Saving Rain, was originally going to be a single novel, but it quickly turned into a trilogy. She fell in love with the characters and had to continue the story. Saving Rain is a new adult contemporary romance meant for readers 18 and older.
She lives in the mountains with her family. She loves to read, hike, and travel when she is not writing. She is a sucker for romance, especially a book with a strong alpha male who has a sensitive side. She also enjoys a good mystery and thrillers.
Her favorite author is James Patterson; he is an amazing writer.
With being a newbie, she is just learning all the ropes, but is loving the wild ride.
