Review: Savor by Kate Evangelista

Book Info-

Savor by Kate Evangelista
Genre: New Adult
Publisher: Crescent Moon Press

Blurb-

Mature and explicit content. Not recommended for readers below 18-years-old. Yup, you've got to be that old to read my story. Consider yourself warned.

I’m Dakota Collins, a tough talking, eye patch wearing, workaholic photography student. Why am I important? Well, maybe because I get to spend an entire month with Vicious, only the sickest indie rock band out there.

You see, I needed a subject for my Spring Showcase introspective in order to graduate. During a chance encounter at a club I’d been sent to cover for the Daily Gossip, our ironically named college paper, the features writer I usually teamed up with introduced me to the band—by accident, I might add. It involved a run in with a scary, bald bodyguard. Anyway, long story short, I signed a contract to take pictures of Vicious.

I should have known their handsome yet way too serious for his own good bassist, Luka Visraya, wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself. He’s gorgeous and all, but the way he smiles spelled trouble with a capital L. I’m in for a long month with him around.

Crazy shit happens and then some. So, if you want the skinny on Vicious and the events revolving around my stay at Lunar Manor, read my story.

Again, refer to the warning above.

My 5* Review-

Disclaimer: I received a copy of Savor in exchange for an honest review as part of the blog tour.

I’ve read Savor without reading Taste and without realising that they were kind of linked. That said not having read Taste or knowing of this link has not affected how good this book is! Savor has however left me practically begging Kate Evangelista for Relish! I kid you not! I read the final page sat and stared at my kindle before heading to Twitter to ask Kate Evangelista how long I had to wait for book 2!! (I’m sooo cheeky sometimes)!!

So for me Savor introduced me to Dakota and to Vicious.

Dakota is a college student just coming up towards graduation but needs one final project. Her final photographic project for her graduation needs to be her best. The question is what does she choose? The Answer: The best rock band in the town; Vicious, of course!

Dakota just happens to bump into Luka in the club that she is covering for the college paper; The Daily Gossip. The club is being covered for the paper as the rock band Vicious are playing. Dakota has never heard of Vicious and when her gaze lands on Luka she has no idea just who he is. But she does know she needs to photograph him for her final project.

After Dakota asks if Luka would be her subject for her final project Dakota manages to impress both Yana and Luka with photos from the club and they agree. Dakota finds herself drawn into their world, as she is given the chance to be the band photographer for one month. But to do this Dakota has to temporarily give up everything else, she moves to Lunar Manor to eat, sleep, breathe and photograph Vicious.

Vicious; Yana; the band manager, Luka; the Bassist, Dray; the drummer, Demitri; the lead guitarist, and Phoenix; the singer.
Kate Evangelista has portrayed the band to be inhumanly Gorgeous; every last one of them.

Whilst reading Savor I experienced one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. I felt just about every emotion possible, as and when the characters felt them; especially Dakota. Dakota managed to capture my heart very early in this novel, and Luka; well, what can I say… If only I could reach in through my Kindle and touch him!!! ;-)

I was captured and enthralled throughout, I laughed, cried and shouted at my kindle (which is becoming increasingly more frequent of late)! The point in the book that my heart broke was just before New Year; I can’t give more details for fear of spoiling it for you. But it reduced me to real tears.

Kate has written an amaze-balls book, I can’t wait for book 2, I will also be picking up a copy of Taste too in the near future and reading that. This is another great book that I would happily recommend, and that has been a thorough joy to read.

So my final note is to the author Kate Evangelista: Thank You for writing this Amaze-balls book and allowing me the opportunity to read it, and Please, Please keep writing especially book 2 and any other parts to this series that you may have in mind. ;-)

About The Author-

When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. Today, she lives in the Philippines and writes full time.
