After a fatal hit and run accident, Ella Monroe fears that she’s lost more than her beloved parents. Horrifying visions of a past life and a disturbing voice in her head have psychiatric professionals convinced that she’s lost her sanity as well. But when Kale--a dark and handsome stranger with a mysterious past--reveals the true meaning of her visions and the tremendous power she wields through them, Ella must come to terms with the devastating truths of her own past, while eluding an ancient Dark Prince who seeks to control not only her future, but all of mankind’s, by means of abilities that Ella is only beginning to understand.

Enter the shrouded world of an age old battle between an ancient race known as the Immortals and their bitter enemy Laurent, the so-called Dark Prince, who commands an army of half-breed vampires known as Chorý. Both sides have been desperately searching for the prophesied emergence of the Arc, a clairvoyant with unparalleled power to recall the past and a soothsayer with clear vision into the future.

The Council of Immortals has sworn to protect the Arc, whom they have identified as young Ella Monroe, a college freshman from Virginia living quietly and unaware of her powers or her past. But a renegade Chorý has other plans for the protection of a girl he has loved through the ages. Can Kale convince Ella of who she is, what she is destined to become, and what he once meant to her? Is he truly the best protector to shield the world from the devastating misuse of her powers that Laurent is bent on controlling? Or will the forbidden love they share and Kale’s cursed condition as a wretched and hated Chorý be used against them both?

This paranormal romance told from the heroine’s perspective builds in intensity and intrigue to a finale you won’t see coming. Heart pounding action mixed with heartwarming friendships and heartbreaking romance will leave you breathless and begging for more.

My 4.5* Review-

So I read book #1 of this series a while back before I begun blogging, I've been meaning to read the other books for ages now, so this blog tour gave me the perfect opportunity.

Ella is missing and Kale is planning on doing anything and everything he can to get her back. Even if it means working with his mortal enemy; Jace and 2 humans; Alex and Mia. With Alex and Mia being human Kale has to try and keep both Alex and Mia safe, easier said than done when Alex is determined to be a part of the rescue mission; regardless of the risks involved. To top everything off Kale is also fighting his own internal battle against the bloodlust that is threatening to consume him.
Ella has been taken and held by Laurent; who is training her to use her powers and has used them to reveal her the truth behind her parents deaths.

Can Kale beat the odds? Will he save Ella? Or will he succumb to the bloodlust?

Ella; has been through absolute hell, but she refuses to give up. Even though she is emotionally exhausted and drained. She continues to push herself and try to find a possible way out.

Jace; I'm not completely convinced about Jace, he seems to have good intentions but I'm not sure if I trust him entirely. I often find myself wondering if he has an ulterior motive for wanting to save Ella from Laurent's grasp.

Kale; I really wish I could crawl in there and hug him sooo much. He wants nothing more than to be able to save Ella and be with her, but his bloodlust is threatening to consume him and destroy his hopes of happiness, as well as making him doubt if Ella will actually be safe with him.

I have become emotionally attached to the characters, especially Kale and Ella. I would love nothing more for this to end with them both getting their happily ever after, but I somehow don't think that will happen, at least not yet.

The ending is one hell of a cliffhanger! I can't believe that Inger Iversen has been that cruel as to abandon me like that. I NEED to know what happens next!! Please Inger Iversen when will there be more?? ;-)

The book is told from more than one POV which is good because I can see what makes each person react the way they do. That said, is 5 POV's maybe a bit too many. So authors would struggle to keep that amount of POV's clear but Inger Iversen doesn't have that problem.

I love Inger Iversen's writing style, she has such a way with words that I'm drawn right into the heart of the story and completely immersed to the point where I just cannot walk away from the book.

I can't wait to read Immortal Heart, but more so I cannot wait for the continuation from this book!

More than a century after the tragedy of Hélène's death and before Ella found Kale bruised and broken on her doorstep, Kale moved through the world in a haze of personal punishment allowing it to consume him. Until his friend, Detective Deacon, a newly infected Chorý calls on him for a favor.

In this prequel to the Few Are Angels series, Kale is thrown into a world of human blood trafficking and is introduced to a Chorý that offers him a chance at happiness- in blood.

My 4.5* Review-

Knowing that I have a huge soft spot for Kale, I was delighted to find that Immortal Heart is Kale's POV and ALL about him. Yay!! *bounces excitedly*

Kale is searching for his reincarnated soulmate Hélène. Whilst looking for her , Kale befriends a police detective named Deacon. Deacon is no ordinary police detective, he is also a Chorý like Kale. Deacon is a newly infected Chorý and Kale helps Deacon to control his feeding and helps him adjust to his new lifestyle.

Kale and Deacon begin investigating human trafficking, where the girls are being sold for their blood; so not your normal trafficking!! The two Chorý wind up undercover at Jesper Shipping Yard as security guards. Where they meet Sola; their boss' daughter.

Kale and Sola forge an intimate friendship, based on the lie that Kale is someone else. Eventually Kale admits that he cannot offer Sola anything but friendship because his heart belongs to another.

Inger Iversen does a great job at building Kale's heartache and pain, and showing the things he has struggled with in his life both before and after he was infected.

I loved reading about Kale, how he has been walking through life for more than a century after Hélène's death and still hasn't yet found the reincarnate of her; Ella. I've seen his anguish over the events of his past and how Kale tries to keep his past from those he cares about. Kale has tried to find his comeuppance for all the pain he's caused but there is no-one who could punish Kale anymore than he punishes himself.

Immortal Heart is once again extremely well written and it sucked me in right from the start. Immortal Heart flows seamlessly into book #1, Few Are Angels picks up where this leaves off. If you read Immortal Heart before Few Are Angels you wouldn't know that it was written after books #1 and #2.

I really do love this series and I cannot wait for the next instalment.
