“Being half-fae I had the ability to sense others' impending deaths. Anomalies. Deaths that didn't have to happen. Sometimes, if I had enough time to get to them, I could stop their deaths. But I never imagined I'd see my own.”

With only a week to go before she gives birth to her daughter Emma, Harley Faye Finley chooses to make the ultimate sacrifice. Trade her life for that of her daughter’s. When the time comes, she’s ready for the inevitable.

But something goes wrong.
Harley survives.
But someone…or something else is in there with her.

As this unknown, malevolent force fights for control, Harley finds herself a prisoner in her own body, and those she loves are now in mortal danger. Will she, Nolan, or anybody else be able to stop it before it’s too late?

Or will the Harley they know and love be lost to them forever?

My 4.5* Review-

Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this book by Mel at Girls Heart Books in exchange for nothing more than an honest review. All thoughts and opinions in this review are entirely my own.

Let me start by saying that I have loved this series so far. So I didn't think twice about signing up to review book #5! And I wasn't disappointed either.

Possess My Soul launched me back into the world with Nolan, Harley, Aggie and everyone else!

Harley has been having visions, these visions are of deaths before it happens. She has these visions because she is half Fae. Her latest vision has been her most un-nerving vision because its of her own death. Harley hasn't told anyone about the vision but she knows that when her daughter is born that her own life will end.

the time comes and Harley goes into labor and she goes into hospital, she delivers their daughter and then she feels herself slipping from this world, her grip on Nolan's arm fails and she's gone. The doctors and nurses usher Nolan from the room so that they can attempt to save Harley. Just as the doctor comes out to inform Nolan that they were unable to save her, something happens and Harley is suddenly alive.

Once Harley, Nolan and Emma are back at home, Nolan notices some differences in Harley, the doctor thinks that Harley is just suffering from "Post Partum Depression". Nolan doesn't seem to be convinced.

When Harley came back to life in the hospital someone or something else came back with her. Now Harley and this other life force are fighting for control of her body. Will Harley be forced to watch as this force takes over her body and harms all those she loves? Can Nolan or the others figure out whats wrong and stop it before Harley is lost to them completely?

Once again J.A. Howell captured my attention from the very beginning and held it until the very end. Possess My Soul is an emotional roller-coaster ride that I could't have gotten off even if I had wanted to. There were moments when I was happy for the characters and in the next breath I would be at the point of crying for them. This book is packed with action action and suspense from start to finish.

The characters have progressed and grown even more in this book, and are very realistic. I enjoyed seeing more of Fate in this book too. After reading some of the things that Ms Howell has subjected her characters to, I'm surprised they haven't packed up and left (yes, I know they aren't real people), she can be soo cruel sometimes!

Ms Howell's writing continues in her easy to read and follow manner, but still packed with the detail needed in order to allow us to create out own visualizations of the characters, their situations and their world.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Possess My Soul and the other books in this series. I am looking forward to my next book by J.A. Howell; whichever one that may be!!
