Review: Loving Kate by D. Kelly

Loving Kate by D. Kelly (Book 3 of The Acceptance Series)

Katherine Moore has loved Michael Matthews since they were children. She’s also in love with his best friend.

After her world was turned upside down, she made an impulsive choice which may have cost her the loves of her life. Now, as she tries to make amends, she has to choose one of them. But how do you choose between two men who love you unconditionally?

Things continue to get even more complicated with the arrival of baby Lucas. In the midst of it all, her college graduation looms on the horizon and her future has never seemed more unclear. When she finally declares which man she can’t live without, he refuses to let Kate back into his heart. Everything seems hopeless until a sudden change of events puts her in day to day contact with the man she loves. As they both struggle to accept their new circumstances, Kate can’t help but hope this will be their second chance at happily ever after.

Will the man of her dreams be able to forgive her or will she finally have to accept that she’s truly lost the love of her life?

Loving Kate is the third and final full-length novel in The Acceptance Series.

~My 5* Review~

Disclaimer: I received a free ecopy in exchange for nothing more than an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Let me start by saying that this review will be 100% spoiler free, so I'm going to stay away from discussing the story itself!!

This is the last installment in the Acceptance Series and upon receiving my ecopy I was scared to actually open it and begin reading Loving Kate. I was scared because of how things had been left in the previous book, I was scared because I had no idea what Dee had planned. But I did open Loving Kate and I did read every last word!! I'm so glad that I did and I love Dee so much. This book is freaking awesome!!

I have loved every minute of reading Loving Kate. Dee's writing style is fantastic. Dee has put so much emotion into each and every page, and the emotions are palpable. The emotions from the characters are so powerful and consuming. I found it impossible to stay detached; I was immediately drawn into the story and sucked into the characters lives. Dee's writing makes the reader feel included in the story not like an outsider looking in. This for me makes reading so much more enjoyable.

The characters have grown and developed so much throughout this series and in Loving Kate we see even more depth to each and everyone of them. Dee has left no-one out. I love how this group of friends have such strong and realistic bonds with each other. The strength of they're bonds makes the group feel more like a family than just another group of friends.

This has been such a bittersweet book for me. Why? because I have loved every page and I'm so glad I now fully understand everything and I know what has happened for everyone involved, but I'm gutted that this is the end, it's the last time I will be apart of this group; and I'm going to miss them. It's so sad!!

The ending to this series is spot on though. Every question I had has been answered, there is nothing left open, Dee really has created a complete ending.

I have thoroughly loved every page of Loving Kate, and I strongly urge you to read this if you haven't yet. However, DON'T be tempted to read these out of sequence or things will be very confusing! You need to start at the very beginning and read each book in the correct sequence (see below for links).

I give Loving Kate a HUGE 5* rating and have just one question:

Dee, What's next??? =)

~About The Author~

I'm a wife, a mom and a dog lover. I'm also a taxi, problem fixer, extreme multi-tasker and my kids biggest fan in anything that they do. I love to write, so when my career suddenly derailed I turned back to my love of writing. I married my high school sweetheart... how cool is that? Margaritas and sarcasm make me happy. Chocolate makes that happiness grow exponentially. People who make me laugh are my favorite kind of people. I believe Karma is a bitch who slaps back hard and that mean people suck. I'm California born and raised, I love the beach but hate the sand. The Acceptance Series is my first series with more books to come soon.
