Review: Annihilation (Chronicles Of The Uprising 6) by K.A. Salidas

~Synopsis~

Death is the easy way out.

Still clinging rabidly to power, the Elites spin lies of prejudice and hatred, stoking the flames of war.

The sole driving force toward peace, Mira, had sacrificed everything. But her strength alone was not enough.

It will take the strength of many to finish what she started. As the world lurches toward war, each party has much to lose. Human. Vampire. Otherkin. The only outcomes are peace… or death.

~My Review~

Disclaimer: I received a free ecopy from the author in exchange for nothing more than an honest review. All thought and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Annihilation is the final book in the Chronicles of the Uprising series by Ms Salidas. And what an ending. I can honestly say that I did not see this coming! But I'm jumping ahead of myself...

I've followed this series religiously from the very start, I'm even following the audiobook version too. :) Annihilation rejoins Mira, Stryker, Lucian, Katerina, George and all the other beloved characters in their battle for peace for all Otherkin.

We're taken back to the Capital Lone Star where Stryker, Justine and Mitchell are trying to find a way to save Mira and escape the chaos that has gripped the Capital. After taking down the Magistrate the group must find and stop the Regent; Marshall; from taking the Magistrate's place if they hope to achieve peace.

Meanwhile back in New Haven Lucian, Katerina, George, the humans and Otherkin are preparing to face and fight the forces that were sent out from Lone Star.

Can peace and equality between the humans and Otherkin really be achieved?

I have loved every page of this book. The characters are incredibly realistic, their personalities have developed and grown so much throughout, I feel as though I know each and everyone as a friend. Each character plays an integral role in the overall plot.

Annihilation is told from different POV, each chapter has the name of who is telling that particular part of the story. So it's never confusing and allows a deeper level of connection to each character. The emotion that is contained within the characters and the plot itself is palpable and for me adds to reading experience.

The storyline is clear and well laid out, it's clear that there has been a lot of thought and hard work involved in the writing process. Ms Salidas' writing style is easy to follow and engages the reader from the get go. I felt the more I was reading the further into the action I was being taken, I honestly didn't expect or anticipate the twist that is included!

This was a very fitting end to an amazing series. I'm definitely going to miss Mira, Lucian, Stryker, Katerina, George and everyone else.

Annihilation was a pleasure to read and I'm more than happy to give this a huge 5 star rating from me. If you haven't read Annihilation I'd really recommend it. If you haven't yet started this series I'd grab a copy and come meet the gang!!!
