~My Review~

Disclaimer: I received a free ecopy in exchange for nothing more than an honest review. All thoughts & opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

When I read the blurb for A Deadly Sin, l knew I had to read it.

Now that I've read it I'm completely speechless. This review has taken me almost 2 weeks to write & even now I'm struggling to make sense of my own thoughts & feelings. See as I read I make notes; after I've read the book I refer back to my notes to write my review. I've now spent days referring back to my notes but I'm still not sure I can do A Deadly Sin the justice it deserves! But enough rambling, my review...

We join Mich Curtis, an FBI agent in his hunt for a serial killer; but no ordinary serial killer; this one is making reference to one of the seven deadly sins with each murder. But can Mich work out who's version of the deadly sins the killer is referring to & who will be next or will the killer be one step ahead?

A Deadly Sin does have some references to Gabriel but not enough to cause confusion if you haven't read Gabriel first; because I hadn't. (I have now though). The references did make me curious as to what I may have missed by not having read Gabriel!

The plot in A Deadly Sin is well thought out & carefully laid out in such a way that you are ensnared into a world of lies, truths, murder, mystery & suspense that will have you turning page after page. I found myself there alongside Mich trying to work out the puzzle pieces for him.

I really liked Mich, I thought he was realistic & believable, he wasn't afraid to show emotion & he made me feel for him. I wanted to help him, to give him the answers he was searching for, but I couldn't because I still hadn't worked it out either :( All the characters were well developed & showed a real & good level of personality, which allows the reader to feel a part of their lives & their story. The dialogues between characters is as close to a real conversation as you can get in a book. I could easily picture the characters talking to each other in my head as though watching two people in front of me.

Tracie's writing style is detailed & informative, allowing you to picture the scenes unfolding around you, immersing you in them. Tracie gives the necessary details; that are like a breadcrumb trail; each detail leaves you wanting, no needing, more. Just when you think you've worked out what is coming next, BAM, your hit with an unexpected piece of the trail. A twist that will leave you reeling & wanting to know more!

It's clear to me that Tracie has put a lot of devotion, love & hard work into creating such a fantastic web of murder & mystery. Personally I'm extremely glad that she has because this book was an absolute dark & twisted pleasure to read! I loved every page & would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves darker, twisted, murderous, suspenseful thrillers.
