Without my box I can’t be me
Kidnapped by a clown close to the sea
He’s torn inside where one equals two
One I hate, the other I love true
Secrets and lies become alibis
Sivan is damaged, it’s in his eyes
Riddles unravel when you know who masters
Now Imogene’s only home is Masters
An eye playing spy held me together
When I broke, he broke, two ends of frayed tether
We’re joined by the past like twin souls in hell
Innocent angels molested, and fell
I escaped it, but need to go back.
To love the man with his face painted black.
The circus is known for its eternal magic
Our tent of freedom is simply tragic.
Once a little girl fell, then she fell for me
I’m a fool, and she’s a fool for me
There’s a clown inside us all; a purpose
But this life, it’s all just a circus.

When I saw Cirque Act 2 on my kindle I was so excited. I couldn't wait to sit down & read it, but I had too. When I did sit down with Cirque Act 2 it book me one day to read it!
Back to the review. I'll try & keep it spoiler free. BUT if you haven't read Act 1 then read NO further until you have, I beg you.
We rejoin Sivan & Imogene at Sivan's circus. Imogene is there by a choice not of hers. Sivan on the other hand wants to be there but so does his clown. When the past & present collide will they face their demons & fears or run scared? The biggest question of all still remains...
Will anyone love the clown?
I found Act 2 much darker than Act 1. I actually feared the clown at time in this book. I felt that the clown was a little more unhinged at times almost as if he was right on the edge. That said this was perfectly fitting for the story & the character himself, it was a natural yet twisted progression.
The characters show development in this book, they show their flaws, strengths & weaknesses in such a believable & realistic way. I found myself feeling sorry for Imogene & wanting to reach out to her several times. But this was also true for Sivan & the clown too.
The story is told with such passion & raw emotion that it could be felt through each & every page. Miss Giannoccaro has delivered another amazing story which contained the answers to the questions Act 1 created, as well as giving us more new information which helps with understanding this dark & twisted tale. From page I my mind was no longer my own. My thoughts were consumed by Imogene & the Clown.
At times Cirque Act 2 made me feel like I should have put the book down & walked away, but I couldn't, I wouldn't! I guess I felt like Sivan all those years ago looking through the window. Hopefully it won't leave me quite as twisted! ;) Maybe I'm already as twisted because I enjoyed this series so much.
I found Cirque Act 2 to be a dark, twisted, thought provoking tale that ensnared me from the beginning. It also made me wonder do I love the Clown? My answer is yes. Yes I do love the clown!
I love this book. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone who loves a dark, twisted romance. My only advice is make sure you read Act 1 first. I have no choice but to rate Cirque Act 2 by Ashleigh Giannoccaro a huge...
